Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broker, has today announced significant enhancement to its Australia operations with a raft of new hires led by the appointment of a new CEO, Heather Bone.

Heather will join Gallagher Re in Australia on 16 March as CEO, where she will lead the company’s operations in the country, working closely with Cameron Green, chairman of Gallagher Re, Australia. Heather joins from Munich Re where she has been since 2019, serving as head of strategy, non-life, since 2020.

Heather comes to Gallagher Re with more than 20 years of industry knowledge, which will be a significant asset to the team and to her role as CEO.

Since 1 January 2022 Gallagher Re has made a number of other senior appointments in Australia, including:

  • Peter Button, executive director, joined 1 February from Allianz
  • Natalie Ewart, senior account executive, joined 31 January from Comminsure
  • Alessandro Simi, executive director, joined mid-January from QBE
  • Andrew Geldart, executive director, joined early January from Vero
  • Vanessa Hutcheon, senior account executive, joined mid-February from Swiss Re
