Our Client Service staff is available from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST to answer questions regarding the insurance program or the enrollment procedure. Please be aware that we often experience heavy call volume. In the event that no one is immediately available to take your call, please leave a voice mail message. Your call will be returned as promptly as possible. Most calls are returned the same day.

Due to corporate underwriting and security guidelines, we are not permitted to complete enrollments or process payments over the telephone. We appreciate your understanding. Please contact us with any additional questions or concerns. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and hope that your mission exceeds your expectations!

For over 30 years, Gallagher Charitable International Insurance Services (GCIIS) has served denominations, mission sending churches and educational institutions who have a need for international insurance coverage. We provide coverages for both individual and group protection.  No other broker can bring the faith-based focus and experience ‘boots on the ground’ around the world dealing with security issues, crises, Ebola outbreaks and kidnaps like our Columbia, SC based MGU (Managing General Underwriter) called GCIIS.

Why have international insurance?

The sending organization will have the assurance that individuals and groups traveling have appropriate coverage. Accidents happen during overseas travel and your organization needs an insurance program that protects against the steep costs of an emergency evacuation or a lawsuit emanating from the actions of one of your trip participants. This ensures that there will not be a catastrophic claim without financial protection.

Insurance programs include:

  • Travel insurance
  • Trip cancellation & interruption
  • Individual & group health insurance
  • Group self-funded medical programs
  • Individual life
  • Crisis insurance coverage
  • International personal property
  • Foreign general liability
  • International medical malpractice
  • Directors & officers liability
  • Expatriate prescription services

Overview

At Gallagher, we have experts with years of experience designing pools and cooperatives for religious entities.  You are uniquely situated to take advantage of this collaborative strategy, given your homogeneity and polity.  At the same time we see this as a call to “Biblical Stewardship” in the 21st Century. We have the tools to help you find more efficient ways to finance risk and adjudicate claims, while at the same time having control of the data (underwriting information, claims, appraisals, etc.) to make strategic decisions.  Imagine experiencing what our programs witness over time– ‘the opportunity to return loss fund dollars not encumbered back to members’.

An insurance pool is a multiple-member, risk-sharing arrangement where like organizations pool their funds together to finance an exposure, liability risk or some combination of the three. Rather than purchasing insurance, employee benefits and risk management services through traditional insurance providers, pools and cooperatives share funds to procure those solutions by aligning with reinsurance partners.

What are the benefits of insurance pools?

  • Pricing stability: Pools can purchase higher limits of insurance at a lower cost.
  • Leverage: The power of group purchasing creates broader coverage and more favorable terms for members.
  • Customization: This overarching facet of our member-driven services encompasses risk control, claims management and training.
  • Innovation: Pools have developed unique coverage offerings.
  • Ownership: Members own the pool, including any surplus/equity if losses are lower than expected.
  • Flexibility: Pools respond to individual members’ needs through deductibles, varying SIR levels and special coverages.
  • Control: Members are more involved in key decisions such as claims resolution, funding levels and services.

Could an insurance pool be right for you?

  • Do you seek to participate in shared services?
  • Would you benefit from higher insurance limits?
  • Do you have a desire to benefit from the decreased profiting of an insurance company?
  • Would it benefit your organization to see a reduction in the volatility of the insurance market at renewal?
