The relative success of the U.S. economy, amidst a break economic global backdrop, has fueled a strong stock market recovery in recent years. Another side effect, particularly in the past year, has been the appreciation of the U.S. dollar, which has been strong as investors prepare for the Fed to raise interest rates. The flip side of that strength has been an increasing trade deficit, as U.S. goods are more expensive to foreign consumers. Will the power dollar tap the breaks on the U.S. recovery?

Turbo Prop Fleet Report - Q2 2015

Once again we are reviewing the top 12 single and twin turboprops in this workhorse segment representing 13,598 active airframes worldwide. In total 89 new aircraft were produced during the second quarter within this 12 aircraft segment. And we continue to enjoy very low domestic losses.

Market Conditions Update: 2015 Midyear Real Estate and Hospitality

The first six months of 2015 have proven that even with the M&A game heating up and offshore investments in insurance, there is abundant capacity for all asset classes and all geographic exposures. The fact that the National Weather Service is also predicting an El Niño event translates into lower hurricane expectancy. On the “fracking front”, the earthquake swarms never previously experienced have yet to make it to the “Boogey Man” list for insurers. Where there are new important changes is in the trend toward Midwest/Texas hail deductibles particularly for industrial flex.
