Accountable Care Organizations: Insurance Ramifications

A key issue in health reform is striking a balance between healthcare costs and quality health care. One tool to achieve this is the use of accountable care organizations (ACOs) in both traditional Medicare programs and private insurance programs. Whether or not ACOs will proliferate in the future is unknown, but there could be risk management ramifications to their structures.
