Gallagher has appointed Michael Robinson as Head of DC Investment for Gallagher's Benefit & Consulting Division in the UK, further enhancing its defined contribution (DC) investment expertise and supporting its commitment to helping clients navigate an increasingly complex retirement landscape.
Michael brings extensive experience across investment strategy, portfolio design and retirement solutions, reinforcing Gallagher's ability to deliver innovative and client-focused advice in the DC market.
Michael joins from Aegon UK. As the firm's Head of Investment Development, he led the design and delivery of investment solutions, integrating public and private markets to improve outcomes for DC pension scheme members.
Prior to Aegon UK, he spent eight years advising UK and European pension schemes and insurers on investment strategy, portfolio construction and manager selection.
In his new role, Michael will lead Gallagher's DC investment proposition during an important time for the DC market. Schemes are responding to several regulatory and market developments, including the drive towards 2030 readiness, increasing scale requirements, Value for Money (VfM) assessments, contractual override considerations and a growing focus on private market opportunities.
He will also oversee the continued expansion of Gallagher's DC investment capability, guided by a remit to support the firm's growing client base with specialist expertise and tailored solutions.
Michael reports to Nick Lewis, Co-Head of Investment, UK.
