Global CEO, Gallagher Re
Tom Wakefield joined Gallagher in May 2021 and in December 2021, following the acquisition of Willis Re, Tom was appointed UK CEO of Gallagher Re to lead the UK-regulated reinsurance business. He was appointed global CEO of the business in June 2023.
He joined Gallagher Re following a 17 year tenure at Aon, where he was latterly COO for Global Re Specialty and led the broker’s book of marine, specialty, composite reinsurance business, as well as being UK Growth Leader for reinsurance solutions.
Tom is responsible for leading the ongoing expansion of Gallagher’s reinsurance operations and works closely with the wider senior management team to continue to drive the business’ ambitious growth agenda.
