Our cycling insurance policies are specifically designed for Cycling Canada and Participating Provincial Associations (PPA) members, affiliated cycling clubs and members. Cycling Canada and PPA members are protected for all approved and sanctioned activities confirmed with their provincial association.
Cycling coverage for Cycling Canada and PPA members
Our exclusive insurance coverage for Cycling Canada and PPA members provides a range of insurance coverage for your cycling operations.
The Cycling Canada and Cycling Provincial Collective insurance programs are designed to protect the following, for all cycling sanctioned events and/or activities:
- Events
- Clubs
- Teams
- Team members
- Players
- Officials

- Volunteers
- Administrators
Sanctioned cycling events and approved cycling activities include, but aren't limited to, club rides, club meetings, competitions, organized training camps, events, seminars, clinics, fundraising activities and tours abroad for the Cycling Canada and PPA members.
Cycling insurance coverage includes:
- $10M general liability insurance, including professional liability and participants in the organized, sanctioned cycling activities and cycling events
- Public liability insurance
- Sports accident, death and dismemberment insurance
- Directors and Officers (D&O) insurance for the national and provincial boards
Optional cycling insurance coverages
For Cycling Canada and PPA members, Gallagher offers additional cycling coverages specifically designed to fill the gaps for cycling insurance outside of the core program. Optional insurance coverages, available at preferential rates to Cycling Canada and PPA members only, include the following:

Several regional associations are approved to receive membership prices. Our partnership provides an extensive Canadian insurance program for many different cycling associations with exclusive pricing for its members. These associations include:
Cyclists' responsibility code
- Always stay in control. You must be able to ride safely among others, to come to a complete stop, and to avoid obstacles — all without causing harm to yourself or others. You must only participate in events that match your fitness and ability level.
- You must be familiar with the course and the environs.
- Don't ride on any course if you're not participating in that field or event.
- Obey, at all times, the rules governing this sport and the rules governing this event. Observe and obey, at all times, all event signage and personnel, including event staff, marshals, commissaires, security staff and police officers.
- You must always wear an approved helmet while astride your bicycle during an event.
- Use only equipment with which you're familiar and that's in good working order.
- Don't stop where you may obstruct the race in progress or where you're not visible to oncoming riders or others.
- You must not participate in the event if you're under the influence of drugs or alcohol, excessively fatigued, or if you're dizzy or ill.
- If you don't finish the event, you must clearly report to a commissaire or designated event staff that you're withdrawing.
- Understand the risks of this sport and take time to read and understand all documents you're signing, as well as this Cyclists' Responsibility Code.
