Steve joins Gallagher today (8 March) as Client Director for Wales & West, bringing 35 years’ experience — the last 18 of which have been focused solely on clients within public sector & education. In this newly created position, he will provide local expertise and support to clients across the South-West of England and throughout Wales, while helping Gallagher strengthen its public sector & education presence in the region and accelerate growth.
With extensive client-facing and management experience, Steve joins from Marsh where he spent four years as Vice President of its Public Entities Practice with a large and diverse portfolio of public sector clients. Prior to that he spent time at Towergate focused on the academy and further education sector, before which he was at Capita Specialist Insurance Services for 13 years, in particular developing national expertise in helping local authorities best manage and mitigate the impact of absence in their schools.

Steve’s appointment follows the recent announcement of Jayne Pinnell as Client Director for the North East in Gallagher’s specialist UK Public Sector & Education Practice, and enhances the broker’s geographic spread of director-level dedicated sector specialists.
