Recognition honours those companies who recognise their critical role to influence and drive positive change in the business community and societies around the world.

Gallagher is proud to have been recognised for the eighth year in a row as one of the world’s most ethical companies – the only insurance broker with this distinction.

The accolade, announced on Tuesday 26 February, comes from the independent Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, and highlights Gallagher as one of the 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies.

Gallagher has been recognised in this way every year since 2012 and, in 2019, is among 128 recognised honourees spanning 21 countries and 50 industries. It showcases the recipient companies’ ongoing commitment to building capable and empowered workforces, and fostering corporate cultures focused on ethics and a strong sense of purpose.

On sharing the news, Gallagher Chairman, President and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher Jr, underlined Gallagher’s commitment to “maintaining the highest standards of moral and ethical behaviour since our founding in 1927”, adding that, the distinction is testament to Gallagher’s “single purpose” of helping people, businesses and communities navigate risk so they can “face their future with confidence.”

Simon Matson, CEO of Gallagher’s UK broking and underwriting operations, said: “We’re incredibly proud to once again have our commitment to ‘doing the right thing’ recognised by the Ethisphere Institute. How we work together and treat one another – our colleagues, our clients and our communities — matters. You could argue that integrity is what you do when no one is watching, but it underpins everything we do at Gallagher, where actions will always speak louder than words. We are honoured to join the list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the eighth straight year, and even more so to be the only insurance broking firm recognised in this way.”
