Gallagher today announced a further expansion of its growing European operations with three new joiners in its Private Equity and M&A practice, building on other recent hires in this space.
Cristina Montserrat Chaparro Vaquero has joined as a Senior Broker specialising in Tax and W&I. Cristina started her career at PWC where she spent 14 years as a tax advisor, before moving to AON as Director of Tax Insurance Practice for Iberia. Most recently she worked at Sabseg where she set up M&A Transactional Solutions team for Iberia and Italy and appointed Veronica Orosa Talarewitz and Pau Lopez Fornons, who are also both joining Gallagher.
Veronica joins in a dual broking and claims role. Veronica originally trained as a lawyer and started her career at Clyde & Co specialising in insurance law before moving to AIG as a Financial Lines and M&A Major Loss Claims Adjuster and more recently to Sabseg as W&I Insurance Solutions and M&A and Financial Lines Claims Director.
Finally, Pau joins Gallagher as an Associate Broker in the W&I space. Pau also started his career at PWC where he worked as a tax advisor for 10 years, before moving into in-house tax advisory roles at Aedas Homes and Crowe. He then moved into broking specialising in M&A and Tax Insurance. The team will be based in Spain and operate as part of the wider Gallagher Private Equity and M&A practice across Europe.
Over the last year, Gallagher has made a number of hires in Europe to expand its expertise in supporting clients undertaking M&A activities and operating in the private equity sector. Earlier in August the firm announced Alistair Lester was joining as CEO of Private Equity and M&A across the UK, Europe and Middle East. In June, Henk Bijl joined as a Senior Broker specialising in transactional risks for Europe and in October 2024, Joyce Koch and Vera Dembski were appointed as tax specialists.
Gallagher currently offers products and services for corporate transactions including risk and insurance due diligence, warranty and indemnity insurance, structured credit, tax liability insurance and contingent liability insurance, which are increasingly popular amongst European firms undertaking transactions, including to help them mitigate increased risks caused by the current economic uncertainty.
Commenting on the appointments, Alistair Lester, CEO of Gallagher's Private Equity and M&A client practice across the UK, Europe and the Middle East said: "Cristina, Veronica and Pau are a welcome addition to our growing team based in Europe. They bring fantastic knowledge of transactional risks solutions, the use of which is fast growing amongst our European clients and they are a great addition to our team. We have ambitious growth plans for this specialist area of insurance and expect to make further appointments in the coming months."
