Gallagher today announced Jonathan Webb* has been appointed regional managing director of Romero Group, which includes the Club Insure, NDML and Sentient brands. In his role he will oversee all aspects of the business and its 200 employees based across four locations.

Jonathan joins the business on 23 February and brings extensive industry experience in an insurance career that spans nearly 40 years. He joins Gallagher from Marsh, where most recently he was managing director of Scotland, having previously worked at Towergate. Jon takes the helm from Simon Mabb, who remains with Gallagher in an advisory role supporting integration following AssuredPartners becoming part of the global broker in mid-2025. Jonathan will report to Gary Fletcher, managing director of Commercial, UK & Ireland retail division at Gallagher.

Romero was set up in 1997 and works with organisations across the UK providing insurance and risk management services in sectors including construction, manufacturing, leisure and hospitality including clubs, casinos and restaurants and hotels. The firm has offices in Leeds, Nottingham, Halifax and Harrogate.

In addition, Gallagher has appointed Fiona McQuillan as commercial director of the Romero Group, a newly created role for the firm focused on growing capability and expanding its products and services. Fiona was previously operations director and has worked with the firm for 15 years.

Commenting on the appointments, Gary said: "We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to Gallagher, and see Fiona promoted into her new role as we continue to invest in deepening our leadership capability. Given the breadth of sectors that Romero serves their combined market knowledge, experience and skills in building fantastic client propositions will be a valuable asset as we look to expand. From a wider integration perspective, we have made great progress on bringing the various AssuredPartners businesses into Gallagher over the last six months, and this work will continue over the course of 2026."
