Four decades of experience. A career built on trust.

After almost 40 years in the insurance industry, Michael Hambleton has learnt that while markets evolve and risks become more complex, one thing never changes: People value advisers they can trust.

Michael joined Gallagher's Queensland Corporate team earlier this year, bringing extensive experience advising organisations across local government, healthcare, education, manufacturing, transport, charities and the not-for-profit sector. Throughout his career, he's worked with some of Australia's largest organisations, helping them navigate increasingly complex insurance and risk challenges.

"It's never just about placing an insurance program," Michael says. "It's about understanding the client's business, the risks they're facing and building solutions that genuinely support their long-term objectives."

That relationship-first mindset has defined Michael's career, with many client partnerships spanning well over a decade. Having previously worked with several of the world's largest international insurance brokers, Michael brings a broad perspective to Gallagher, along with deep market knowledge and an appreciation for the importance of collaboration.

"What attracted me to Gallagher was the culture," he says. "It's an organisation that combines global capability with a genuine focus on people and long-term relationships. That aligns closely with the way I've always wanted to work."

As organisations continue to navigate economic uncertainty, evolving regulation and emerging risks, Michael believes experienced advice has never been more valuable. "Every client is different. Taking the time to understand their business and what matters most to them is what ultimately delivers the best outcomes."

Outside of supporting clients, Michael enjoys mentoring colleagues and sharing the experience he's built throughout his career.
