Liz Mayo
Principal Consultant, Executive Compensation
Liz Mayo is a principal consultant with Gallagher's Executive Compensation team. In that role, she advises private, public and nonprofit organizations. Liz brings extensive experience in corporate human resources, with an emphasis on financial and analytics metrics analysis. In guiding clients, she works to leverage the drivers of human and organizational performance in aligning with the company's business strategy.
As a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Liz bring more than three decades of compensation experience. Her expertise spans executive and board of director compensation, employment agreements, change-in-control, annual and long-term incentive plan design and litigation support, among other areas. Before becoming a consultant, Liz served as the head of Compensation for Brinker International (parent company of Chili's Bar & Grill), where she led the team responsible for operations, compensation, incentive design, data analysis, human resources information system (HRIS), modeling and compliance.
A passionate champion for pay equity for more than 30 years, Liz has advocated for pay equity at her employers as well as for the clients she served. Liz has analyzed equity compliance and conducted equity training, serving as litigation support for hundreds of cases. Her community work includes volunteering for several compensation-related non-profits, and since 2007, she has served as a faculty member for WorldatWork.
Liz earned an MBA from Centenary College and a bachelor's degree in public administration from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. A frequent guest lecturer at the Texas Total Rewards Conference and at WorldatWork events, she speaks on compensation, equitable pay, legislation and compliance, and rewards strategy.
