As technologies evolve, so do the risks associated with them. The 2025 Gallagher Business Owners Survey looked at a variety of factors related to cyber risk, the advancements of artificial intelligence and how business owners perceived these risks.
Protecting their businesses against cyber attacks remains a top concern for business owners.
- Many business owners (72%) are extremely/very concerned that cyber attacks will affect their business over the next 12 months, up from 69% in 2024.
- Unsurprisingly, 36% of business owners would like to acquire or expand insurance coverage for cyber attacks.
- Regarding AI, almost all business owners (93%) are at least somewhat worried that the technology will affect their business over the next 12 months, compared to 85% who said the same last year.
- Nearly all business owners agree that AI misuse needs stronger regulation (95%) and better protection (90%).
Despite these concerns, business owners plan to invest in AI for their business operations in 2025.
