DUBAI, 12 October 2026: Gallagher today announced the launch of a new cyber risk advisory practice for the Middle East expanding its capabilities to help businesses identify, assess and manage cyber risks in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
Gallagher has appointed Sidharth Wahi to lead the practice, which will provide cybersecurity consulting and risk advisory to organisations across sectors including financial services, natural resources, power and construction. The practice will help clients assess and manage their cyber risks, strengthen their cybersecurity posture and build operational resilience through an integrated approach combining cybersecurity expertise, risk quantification and strategic advisory services. Sidharth will draw on Gallagher's established global cyber risk expertise, data and insights to deliver locally tailored advisory services for clients across the region.
Sidharth brings over 20 years of experience spanning insurance, banking, consulting and technology, including leadership roles at HSBC, PwC and Balbix. As an actuary, his expertise encompasses enterprise risk management, quantitative risk modelling and cybersecurity. Most recently, he served as VP of product at Balbix, leading the development of an AI-native cyber risk and exposure management platform.
As organisations become increasingly reliant on interconnected digital and operational technologies, cyber incidents can have significant financial, operational and reputational consequences. The growing sophistication of cyber threats, including the use of AI, alongside evolving regulatory expectations, is placing greater emphasis on the need for organisations to adapt a proactive and integrated approach to cyber risk management.
The new practice will support organisations in understanding their cyber risk exposure, evaluating the effectiveness of their cybersecurity arrangements and strengthen their ability to prevent, respond to and recover from cyber incidents. It will also help clients translate technical cybersecurity risks into business and financial insights around risk mitigations, investment and resilience.
Working alongside Gallagher's existing financial lines and cyber broking team in the Middle East, led by Daniel Miller, the practice will bring together cybersecurity expertise, risk advisory and insurance capabilities.
Commenting on the new service, Sidharth said: "Cybersecurity is no longer solely a technology concern. It is a fundamental business risk with the potential to disrupt operations, impact financial performance and challenge organisational resilience. Our ambition is to build a cybersecurity advisory practice that helps organisations understand their exposure, strengthen their defences and make informed decisions about managing cyber risk. By combining cyber expertise with quantitative risk insights and Gallagher's established insurance capabilities, we can help clients develop a more integrated approach to managing cyber risks."
