LONDON, 14 October 2026: Gallagher today announced the appointment of Matthew Jarrold as a Strategic Account Director in its UK & Ireland Retail division.
Matthew will be responsible for leading key client relationships and further developing Gallagher's support and services for major corporate clients.
He joins from Marsh where he worked for the last six years, leaving as Head of Service for corporate clients in the North of England and Ireland. Prior to this, he held roles at JLT Specialty, Aon and Griffiths & Armour. Drawing on over 30 years of insurance industry experience, Matthew brings a strong track record in managing relationships with complex clients and delivering strategic risk and insurance solutions for large organisations.
This follows the appointment of Matthew Foy as Strategic Account Director in August and is part of a wider recruitment campaign launched after Gallagher introduced a new structure for its UK & Ireland Retail division in November 2025. The model aligns Gallagher's commercial and corporate client portfolios, recognising the differing scale, complexity and service needs of each customer group.
Commenting on the news, James Murray, Regional Managing Director of Corporate, UK & Ireland Retail at Gallagher said: "Matthew joins at a particularly exciting and important time for our team. As we continue to invest in our capabilities and refine our proposition for major corporate clients, his appointment enhances our ability to provide the specialist expertise and insight our clients need. Matthew brings extensive experience, strong client-focused credentials and an ambition that aligns with our own. We are delighted to welcome him to Gallagher."
Matthew Jarrold added: "I was attracted by Gallagher's ambition and client-led approach. While the business already offers a strong proposition, there is a clear commitment to continuing to invest, evolve and enhance the support provided to clients. I am looking forward to helping to strengthen the solutions and expertise we bring to clients across the UK."
