Northampton Saints fly-half Fin Smith has been voted Gallagher Player of the Month for April, winning 44% of the votes ahead of Leicester Tigers' Gabriel Hamer-Webb, Saracens' Noah Caluori and Bristol Bears' Kalaveti Ravouvou.
Smith amassed 31 points across the two rounds, guiding Saints to back-to-back victories and strengthening their position at the top of the table. In Round 13, Smith scored the winning try with just five seconds remaining to secure a dramatic bonus point win over play-off rivals Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.
The England No.10 followed that with another standout display in Round 14 as Saints edged closest challengers Bath Rugby in a thrilling top-of-the-table clash at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens. The 24-year-old crossed for the opening try to set the tone for one of the matches of the season and capped off a fine all-round performance by landing the decisive late penalty in a 41-38 home victory.
Nick Harris, CEO, GGB UK & Ireland Retail, commented, "Fin Smith joins teammate Edoardo Todaro in collecting a Player of the Month award this season, following standout performances against the Exeter Chiefs and Bath Rugby. With just three rounds to go, Saints fans will be hoping that he can maintain this fantastic form and lead them all the way to the final, now just a month away. Congratulations, Fin."
The shortlist was voted for by a panel of media professionals.
