What does Travel Insurance cover*?
Travel Insurance is there to protect against the unforeseen, such as costly medical bills from needing medical treatment abroad, needing to cancel your holiday or losing your baggage. Should something go wrong on your holiday, it's reassuring to know Travel Insurance is there to help protect you.
Emergency Medical Treatment and Repatriation

Award Winning “Smart Luggage” Cover
A product designed to give you a real time pay-out should your luggage become lost or delayed. You’ll receive £50 if your luggage is delayed and cannot be located at your destination airport and £500 if your luggage is deemed lost after 48 hours. Paid straight into your registered bank or PayPal account**.
Cancellations & Travel Delay
Part of your cover could mean that you can recover costs if you need to cancel your holiday due to unforeseen circumstances. Cancellation cover starts immediately on single trip policies so you should arrange insurance as soon as you book.
Personal Belongings (theft & damage) and Lost Luggage
Protection against your baggage or suitcase and its contents becoming lost or damaged during transit. It also covers personal belongings, whether they are in your suitcase or not.
Terrorism cover is available on some policies. It offers protection against costs incurred as a result of an act of terrorism. This includes, but isn’t limited to medical expenses, transport, travel home and evacuation to a safe place.
Personal liability cover provides you with financial protection in the event of any injuries or damages that you cause to a third-party whilst you’re on holiday.

When should I buy Travel Insurance?
What people often don’t realise is that Travel Insurance can provide cover before you even begin your holiday - so you could see benefit from booking your Travel Insurance cover to start when you book your holiday.
For example, if you need to cancel your holiday for an insured reason, your Travel Insurance could recover the costs. Equally, where provided, terrorism cover is active beforehand, ensuring you aren’t left out of pocket if an act of terrorism results in you being unable to go on your holiday.
With this in mind, we believe it makes sense to ensure you have Travel Insurance in place as soon as possible, preferably as soon as you’ve received confirmation of your holiday booking. It can also reduce the risk of you forgetting to book your Travel Insurance and subsequently ending up uninsured.
What if I test positive for COVID-19 before I travel?
Rest assured, there are various policies purchased via our partnership with Just Travel Cover offering COVID-19 cover, which includes medical expenses and cancellation cover should you contract Coronavirus.
As long as you have selected an insurer/policy that offers this, you will be able to recover costs of your holiday if you test positive for COVID-19 and cannot travel. In most cases, you will need to present a medical certificate and test result proving you have contracted COVID-19 in the lead up to your holiday. Terms and conditions apply - always be sure to check the COVID-19 document and Policy Wording that accompanies your policy.
