Gallagher has acquired Insurance Risk Solutions, a Darwin-based insurance brokerage led by Brett Hagan and Dwight Shepherd who have been serving the Northern Territory for more than 25 years. Insurance Risk Solutions is a family business with a strong community focus, making it a good fit for Gallagher. Geographically, it will boost the existing Gallagher presence in Darwin and NT. In becoming part of Gallagher, Insurance Risk Solutions will use the Gallagher brand and the team will relocate to the Gallagher office in Darwin.

Sarah Lyons, Chief Executive Officer, Gallagher Australia and Asia, said: "I'm delighted to welcome the Insurance Risk Solutions team to Gallagher. They will have our full support to pursue their careers while continuing to provide local insurance solutions. This acquisition will be a win for clients, with Gallagher providing new levels of access to industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities and global markets."

"Our expanded Darwin team is ideally positioned to service all major industry sectors within the Northern Territory. The team from Insurance Risk Solutions bring experience in rural, pastoral and horticultural industries along with specialist expertise in transport insurance. Gallagher has an established specialism in this area and we are looking forward to showcasing the confidence we can offer clients," she said.

"Gallagher has a strong track-record of growth in Australia. I'm pleased to say lots of conversations with owners of insurance brokerages have become terrific new merger partnerships. They are choosing to become part of the Gallagher growth story, inspired by ethics, opportunity, entrepreneurialism and the ability to bring greater capabilities and service to clients," she said.

Gallagher is on Ethisphere's 2023 World's Most Ethical Companies list, an honour the company has achieved 13 times. It has also been recognised as a Gold Skilled Workplace by Mental Health First Aid Australia and has been named an Insurance Top Employer by Insurance Business Australia magazine for the third consecutive year.
