Michael Thornhill
President, Eastern Canada and CEO Gallagher Caribbean
As Regional President, Eastern Canada, Mike supports area presidents in developing business in the East while contributing to the strategic growth of Gallagher in Canada as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Prior to his current role, Mike led sales and operations in Atlantic Canada as Area President. In 2021, Mike took on an additional role as CEO of Gallagher Caribbean. Mike leverages his knowledge of risk management solutions and leadership skills to strategically drive growth of the business across 10 countries in the region.
With over 25 years of experience in insurance, Mike has extensive knowledge of risk management and holds Canadian Risk Management (CRM), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certificates. Mike holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Mount Allison University and an Investment Management Diploma from Nova Scotia Community College. He has worked across various industry segments, most notably with commercial and personal lines and underwriting.
