Dive In Festival for Diversity and Inclusion in Insurance

Last Friday 14 September, Gallagher was proud to kick off the international festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance, with the 2018 Dive In Fest Community Cup - a friendly 5-a-side football tournament co-hosted by East End Phoenix Football Club.

Following the success of last year's event, 10 teams from across the London insurance market and 4 community teams went head to head at Powerleague Docklands, using the collaborative values of sport to break down the barriers to inclusion, while promoting physical and mental well being.

After three heated group stages, the final match between Gallagher Cyber & PI and Beazleywas a riveting display of skills and sportsmanship, ending with Beazley winning 3-0.

Jonathan Turner, Chairman of Gallagher's Diversity & Inclusion Committee and CEO of Pen Underwriting, remarked:

“On Friday night we had a fantastic evening launching the 2018 Dive In Festival with the 4th annual Dive In Fest Community Cup, featuring community and industry football teams coming together to celebrate diverse and inclusive workplaces. We saw phenomenal sportsmanship and collaboration, and we’re honoured to have had the chance to host this event alongside East End Phoenix FC for the second year. Well done to all teams, including our very own runners up, Gallagher Cyber & PI, and congratulations to the 2018 Community Cup winners, Beazley.”

The tournament marked the official kick off of scheduled events for the fourth annual Dive In Festival for diversity and inclusion in insurance. Festival activities, taking place in 27 countries, will run from 25th - 27th September and have garnered a range of gold sponsors from the insurance industry, including AIG, Aon, Chubb, CNA Hardy, Guy Carpenter, Lloyd’s, Marsh, Prudential, Willis Towers Watson and XL Catlin, as well as Miller, Zurich and Kennedys, who also played in Friday's matches.
