As we celebrate and recognise inclusion across GGB-UK as part of June’s Pride Awareness month, we’ll be bringing you LGBTQ colleague profiles who will share their diverse experiences as well as the steps and action everyone can take to ensure LGBTQ colleagues, clients and communities feel included every day.

Tell us about your role at Gallagher

I have been with Gallagher for 14 years, working as a Claims Manager for Gallagher Housing.

At Gallagher Housing I am part of a team of claims managers who manage claims for the Social Housing Sector. This role is very rewarding as dealing with the Social Housing sector introduces me to many different people from all walks of life albeit during a time of need due to an unfortunate event. However it brings pleasure knowing that I am there to assist them in their time of need attempting to put their life back after an unfortunate event that has caused damage.

My previous career was being a DJ and for the past two years, have been the headline main stage DJ at Essex Pride.

Why is Pride month important to celebrate?

Pride month is a great opportunity to show how the community is together and is a great way to show the achievements that had been made since the first actual pride event following the Stonewall riots.

What actions can colleagues take to ensure their LGBTQ colleagues, clients and community feel included every day – not just during Pride month?

Just be supportive, caring and understanding like you would any other person. LGBTQ or not, we are all just people.
