The Symposium will cover topical issues facing the Higher Education sector with our keynote speakers offering insight to help you with the challenges and opportunities facing higher education today.

Our keynote speakers include:

John McLaughlin – Senior Managing Director, Global Higher Education Practice

John leads Gallagher’s Global Higher Education Practice engaging with higher education and insurance industry leaders to identify and respond to the risk management challenges and opportunities facing higher education in a rapidly changing global environment.

Chris Chang, Pro Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement and Education Partnerships, Portsmouth University

Chris is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of an ambitious Global Engagement strategy for the University, for extending our global partnerships and reach to make our high-quality brand of education even more accessible worldwide.

Before joining the University in September 2016, Chris was Pro Vice-Chancellor Corporate Marketing, International and Development Services at Anglia Ruskin University. He has over 20 years’ experience in the higher education sector and a background as a lawyer. He qualified as a barrister in 1986 and began his career working as an advocate and solicitor at the High Court of Malaya, advising large corporate clients.

Scott Wightman, Managing Director, U.S. Enterprise Risk Management

Scott Wightman is a Managing Director for Gallagher’s U.S. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Practice. He has over 35 years’ experience – 25 years as broker/consultant and 10 as risk manager, including five years as Director of Risk Management for Saint Louis University.

The event will run from 11.00 – 15.00, and features four sessions with breaks for coffee and lunch.
