Gallagher today announces that Tom Ellis has joined its Specialty division as partner, with a remit covering both hostile environment coverage and sports accident & health programmes, majoring in motorsports. Tom will report into Susan Wright, managing partner of insurance solutions.

Tom joins Gallagher from Tysers. He joined Tysers following the acquisition of Lloyd’s broker, Ellis Clowes in 2015, of which he was a founding director when the business was established in 2010.

Having spent his career in the Lloyd’s market, Tom is recognised as a specialist in the accident and health markets, providing advice and coverage for companies and individuals operating in hostile environments around the globe.

Tom is predominantly known for his reputation for developing and arranging coverage for motorsports drivers and riders. He has been instrumental in developing products and arranging cover for over 20 years, and has covered risks in the sport from F1, Indy car, Nascar, all the way down to grass roots level. This knowledge has crossed into all other major sports too.
