Gallagher Premiership rugby players and Harlequins stars Danny Care, Alex Dombrandt and James Chisholm came together to show their support for local Middlesex business EcoHydra as part of Gallagher’s campaign which champions the resilience of UK organisations during the pandemic.
Tackling Tomorrow Together

Middlesex-based hand sanitiser company EcoHydra Technologies has become the first local business to be showcased as part of Gallagher’s UK-wide initiative ‘Tackling Tomorrow Together

Through its partnership with Premiership Rugby, Gallagher is bringing to life and promoting the stories of six UK businesses and a regional charity that have shown resilience, tenacity and pioneering spirit during the pandemic.

EcoHydra has understandably seen a huge increase in demand for its product during the COVID-19 pandemic and had to adapt fast to respond. As part of Gallagher’s campaign, EcoHydra has been paired with Harlequins and London Irish rugby clubs to give them an extra boost during these tough times.

Last week, Harlequins players Danny Care, Alex Dombrandt and James Chisholm, alongside their teammates, had a chance to sample EcoHydra’s hand sanitiser product in the club’s gym. The three players then treated EcoHydra’s employees to a virtual Q&A, where they discussed their many shared challenges of the last 12 months from staying ‘match fit’ as a player and a business despite constraints, to maintaining team spirit whilst being apart.

As part of the Tackling Tomorrow. Together campaign, EcoHydra will also be promoted on match day at Quins and London Irish, when COVID-restrictions permit, with the local business benefiting from increased exposure off the back of the in-stadia advertising. Employees from the business will also have the chance to attend a game to support Danny, Alex and James from the stands, whilst hosting clients.

EcoHydra

Clifton Melvin, Chairman, EcoHydra Technologies, said: “It is really great to see companies such as Gallagher, offering their time and support to smaller companies during this tough period. EcoHydra has been running since 2004 and our hand sanitisers have been rigorously tested and are approved by the NHS

“We are proud to play our part in the fight against COVID-19. Gallagher has been there every step of the way as a trusted adviser when it comes to providing EcoHydra with insurance solutions that have allowed us to adapt as demand for our products has continued to rise.”

Michael Rea, Chief Executive of Gallagher’s UK Retail Division, commented: “As a local insurance broker, Gallagher is working around the clock with UK businesses – large and small – to help them navigate the challenges and evolving risks that have arisen from the tough trading conditions of the past 12 months.

“Businesses have been left grappling with lockdowns, changes to their insurance requirements, and understanding new risk exposures, with many being forced to quickly adapt their offering or diversify their business model in response to the pandemic and lockdown restrictions. It has been incredible to see the optimism and tenacity of some of these businesses and we wanted to take a moment to champion and recognise both the challenges and opportunities presented during an extraordinary period through our ‘Tackling Tomorrow. Together’ initiative.”

In addition to the rugby-related package, Gallagher continues to offer specialist broking advice and support to EcoHydra.
