Gallagher today announced that Giles Hambly has joined its Major Risks Practice team as a producer, with a focus on supporting clients in relation to tax related insurance solutions.

Having originally trained at EY Sydney within its international tax services division, Giles subsequently joined KPMG and, most recently was employed at Norton Rose Fulbright solicitors in London. Giles is an admitted solicitor of The Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia and holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

Giles has extensive experience of advising on pre-sale restructures, diverted profits tax, permanent establishment risks, capital restructures, domestic and cross-border acquisitions plus general international tax issues. In his most recent role he was responsible for advising a range of insurers on their approach to tax related insurance.

Gallagher’s Major Risks Practice employs 55 risk professionals, and Giles will become part of its established & growing M&A team, which advises on tax, warranty & indemnity (W&I), contingency & litigation risks and insurance due diligence, to corporate, private equity, and M&A advisor clients. He will report into Head of W&I and Tax, Mark Ettershank.
