In his new role, Chris will be responsible for heading up Gallagher’s 65-strong Leicester team, reporting to Gareth Parry-Jones, Regional Managing Director of the Midlands in Gallagher’s UK Retail division. Based at Bede Island Business Park on Western Boulevard, the broker’s Leicester office looks after insurance and risk management for a broad range of businesses in the region, from SMEs through to large corporate organisations.

Chris has over 26 years’ insurance experience and joined Gallagher in 2013 as Client Services Manager for the East Midlands. Prior to that, he was East Midlands Branch Director at Giles Insurance Brokers, which was acquired by Gallagher.

Chris said: “As the largest economy in the East Midlands, Leicester is home to tens of thousands of ambitious businesses, with a particularly strong representation in industries including professional and financial services, manufacturing, engineering and construction – which all count among Gallagher’s areas of specialism in its Leicester team.

“Having been part of Gallagher for eight years, I’m delighted to be taking the helm of our Leicester office, and I look forward to working with our first-rate team of insurance and risk management specialists to support and grow our already impressive portfolio of clients.

“The last twelve months have brought unforeseen challenges for many organisations in Leicester and the wider East Midlands region. Our team’s focus will be on going above and beyond to support businesses of all sizes through these testing times - from helping them to understand, identify and manage any changes to their risk exposure as we emerge out of lockdown, to reviewing and validating their COVID- 19 risk assessments before reopening their premises.”

Gareth added: “Chris’s in-depth knowledge of the local market, his natural ability to build rapport with clients, and his strong leadership skills will all play a valuable role in maintaining the positive momentum our Leicester branch has built in recent years – having enjoyed steady year-on-year growth.

“Investing in talent is a key component of our long-term growth strategy in the Midlands region – and I am very pleased that we have made this important leadership appointment from within our existing team.”
