Social Housing Winter Risks

As the colder weather sets in and many people hope to enjoy celebrations across the country, we must consider the associated risks to help ensure safety during the winter and festive season.

Register for our webinar on 23 November 2021 at 2pm when we will consider the winter risks for social housing associations, and the steps you can take to help mitigate those risks. This webinar is aimed at anyone working for a social housing organisation involved in finance, property maintenance, housing management, risk management, Health & Safety and insurance.

Cold weather can cause damage to unmaintained properties as well as injury to those in our communities. We will also consider the increased use of heating appliances, festive decorations, personal hardship, adverse weather conditions and many other elements that can make winter more challenging than most other seasons.

This webinar will cover the most common risks over the winter period, including:

  • To salt or not to salt – this will cover the risks surrounding ice and the responsibility and liability attached to salting or not salting
  • Risks associated with Christmas, such as fairy lights and real Christmas trees
  • Increase in burst pipe claims, how to minimise and prevent these
  • Preparing for Christmas Crisis – preventing thefts and mitigating large losses

Join us for this 45 minute webinar, which will include a Q&A session. If you are unable to attend on the day please register, and we will send you a link to watch the webinar ‘on demand’ at your convenience.
