Bristol Bears, who will be hoping for a positive start to the season after finding themselves near the foot of table at the end of the last one, will open the new season of Gallagher Premiership Rugby on Friday 9 September in front of the live cameras at 7.45pm. The competition curtain-raiser at Ashton Gate will be one of three live games on BT Sport on the opening weekend as the new season kicks off.

Champions Leicester Tigers will start the defence of their title on the road as they travel south to the Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 10 September. Fans across the North will have plenty to cheer about with both Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons hosting fixtures on the opening weekend, whilst London Irish and Gloucester Rugby also start the season at home.

This year is the fifth season with Gallagher as title partner, which through the partnership aims to support and celebrate rugby heroes across the country from grassroots to international level, and to help protect the players, the clubs and the communities involved in the game by providing specialist insurance broking and risk management services.
