Gallagher is expanding its Leeds office to provide risk management and insurance services to more regional businesses. Gallagher’s Leeds office, based in Minerva House on East Parade, works with large businesses across Yorkshire in industries including manufacturing, financial services, technology, construction, supply chain and real estate. The team helps businesses understand and manage the risks they face, including sourcing tailored insurance that fits their needs.
As part of a continued recruitment drive, the team is expecting to grow by over 20% this year with three new employees currently recruited, and further team members joining over the course of 2023. Rachel Morrison joins from AXA where she specialised in motor insurance for commercial businesses. Her experience will directly benefit Gallagher’s major fleet, haulage and supply chain businesses in the region. Another addition to the team is Holly Brooke who previously was at insurance company Aviva, specialising in property and liability, her experience will help support large and complex businesses across the region.
James McNee has been made a Senior Account Executive and brings extensive legal experience to the role, he is a qualified lawyer who previously advised major insurers on policy coverage. James will use his legal and insurance experience to support clients with technical requirements. Gallagher will be making additional hires within its Leeds office in months to come, as part of its continued recruitment drive.
The Leeds office plans to build on last year’s success when it experienced significant business growth with more regional businesses approaching the firm to help with their insurance and risk management needs. The business is further investing in its technical skills and knowledge across the team so it can continue to deliver for new and existing clients and support them with the evolving risks facing their business. Amid growing economic uncertainty, emerging risks such as cyber security and extreme weather events pose a bigger threat than ever to businesses. Having the right insurance cover in place can help protect businesses so that they can navigate uncertain times with confidence.
James Murray, Director of Gallagher’s Leeds office, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our team by welcoming Rachel, Holly and James. Our clients are trading in an incredibly challenging environment and now more than ever need a strong and capable risk and insurance partner to help protect their businesses.
“Our latest hires are experienced professionals from insurance underwriting and legal backgrounds whose skills will complement our technically focussed approach to risk and insurance.
“Leeds is the fastest growing city in the UK and its economy is set to grow by over 20% in the next ten years. By expanding our team we can build on the success we saw in 2022 and further support businesses in the region with the existing and emerging risks they face.”
