The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recognise the importance of good governance surrounding cyber risk. The opening line on their schools website states that “cyber security should be high on the agenda for any school with a reliance on IT and online system”1.

Following this, the NCSC continues to state that there are three areas of concern and that cyber security is about protecting the device we use, and the services we access online from theft or damage. It is also about preventing unauthorised access to the vast amounts of personal data we store on these devices in online accounts2.

The NCSC poses 8 questions aimed at Governors and school leaders to help them gain understanding and better awareness of their cyber risk profile3.

Whilst the NCSC helps to raise awareness of the issue they are not in the position to offer practical assistance. To help our clients better manage their cyber, we have created SchoolSHARE: Cyber – an ongoing package of support tailored specifically for the education sector and available as an annual service.
