Gallagher has had a base in Chelmsford for more than 10 years and over 200 employees have relocated from four smaller offices spread across the city into the state of the art offices in Eastwood House.

Located in Essex’s commercial and administrative centre, the office will house Gallagher’s experienced team of risk professionals that support local businesses with their insurance needs and specialist teams that support UK businesses in sectors including professional and financial services, construction, real estate, manufacturing and retail. In addition, employees from Gallagher Bassett, Pen Underwriting and Gallagher Benefit Services, and operational teams including HR, Claims, Finance, Change, Partner Assurance and IT will also be based in the office.

The space has been specially designed and equipped with facilities to encourage agile working, such as breakout spaces, hot-desking and video conferencing equipment.

Bringing all Chelmsford based employees together in the one premises will enable them to work in a way that is more agile whilst facilitating more in-person interactions between clients and colleagues. Gallagher is currently recruiting for more people to join its team based in Chelmsford as it continues to grow. The firm has over 6000 employees in the UK operating from offices across the country.

Paul Wenborne, Head of Office for Retail, Corporate, in Gallagher’s Chelmsford Branch said: “We are delighted to open our new office in Chelmsford and bring our teams together under one roof. We now have a significant presence locally and are committed to building on the relationships we have with the business community here and employing more local people into our organisation. We pride ourselves on providing a local service, backed up by national and global industry expertise, to help our clients’ businesses grow, while minimising their total cost of risk.

“The new office space has been designed with agile working in mind and provides our teams with the facilities they need to work in a way that suits them. Breakout spaces and hot-desking will promote more collaboration, which is an integral part of our business, and key to our success, and by investing in this office we can continue to grow our employee base in the city. We very much look forward to welcoming more talented local individuals and supporting them to become a key part of our future success.”
