As part of her visit, Phil Webster, Head of the UK Education Practice sat down with Stacey as part of the ‘Coffee with a Risk Manager’ series. Phil and Stacey took the opportunity to compare and contrast the Higher Education Institution (HEI) landscape in the UK and US and discuss some of the key insurance and risk issues impacting both.
These include the state of the Insurance market and specific concerns including protection of property and assets, increasing duties of care and mental health support for students.
Crucially Phil and Stacey debated and discussed the role of the Insurance and Risk Manager in HEIs and how Gallagher across the globe are taking positive steps to raise the prominence and role of Insurance in the wider Risk Management strategies that Universities employ.
