James Whittingham
Chief Executive Officer, UK & Ireland Retail
James Whittingham is interim CEO of Gallagher’s UK & Ireland Retail division, a role he started in January 2024. James joined Gallagher in March 2019 as Chief Financial Officer of this business. During James’ time at Gallagher, the business has expanded significantly and it now has one of the UK’s largest retail insurance broking businesses. It employs 4,000 colleagues looking after the risk management and insurance needs of over one million commercial organisations and individuals across the UK and Ireland from its extensive office network.
Prior to joining Gallagher, James was Director of Group Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations at Equiniti Group Plc where he played a significant role in the organisation’s successful IPO. James previously held a number of senior financial roles at RSA Insurance and NatWest Group covering general insurance, corporate and investment banking. James is a qualified chartered accountant.
