After 2 years of pandemic pain and multi-billion-dollar industry losses, 2022 showed signs of recovery for the global aviation industry. As the first quarter concludes, however, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the geopolitical uncertainty it has brought has created a renewed sense of uncertainty, casting a shadow over the optimism around recovery.
From an insurance perspective, the situation has created a host of new challenges however we hope and expect that the insurance market will again react calmly and sympathetically following a full assessment of the actual situation as it stands today, alongside a measured and constructive outlook for the future.
